Our Ministries
Faith-Nurturing
St Catherine's Anglican Church has various ministries designed to nurture faith within its congregation, such as the weekly provision of worship services as well as prayer and meditation and Bible/ faith study groups.

Serving the Community
St Catherine's is also intent on serving its local community, and caring particularly for those who are struggling with personal or financial difficulties.

Op-Shop
The first contact point is our Op-shop which is open on a Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30am till 3.30pm. Here, people are met with love and generosity, a listening ear and a willingness to assist where possible.

St Catherine's also hosts a Work for the Dole scheme and provides an assigned group of unemployed people with an opportunity to contribute to the maintenance of the parish and the running of the Op Shop, as well as offering kindness and support when needed.

The church community and its Op Shop and Work for the Dole operate as integral ministries inspired and upheld by the love of God to all of us, resulting in our love for the people God sends into our midst.

We are grateful to the volunteers who coordinate and run these activities, and to the contribution made by WFTD clients in maintaining our buildings and gardens.

Mothers' Union
St Catherine's has a faithful Mothers' Union Group which contributes to the life of the
parish by providing social gatherings and morning teas as well as mission support for a whole range of different outreach programmes addressing areas of need both locally and across the globe.

Hall Hire
St Catherine's makes its hall and other facilities available to community groups. It hosts various Anglicare-run social groups which allow elderly people who live alone (supported by Anglicare) to meet with friends for fun social time and to learn new skills. Twice a year St Catherine's hosts a meal for these Anglicare clients, usually at Christmas and Easter.
St Catherine's also offers its space for a local Taekwondo group which encourages youngsters to develop physical skills and a healthy outlook.

Music Ministry
Our services are well-supported by our two able musicians: Ian Thomson (on piano) and Stuart McPherson (guitar and vocals). Music selections range from traditional mass settings, classical pieces through popular and familiar church hymnary, to contemporary songs.
